Off-the-shelf guitars often need some fine tuning prior to being broken in as well as after being broken in. On the Internet, there are tons of videos available to teach you how to adjust the bridge, how to tweak your truss rod, but for the novice, these are risky endeavors and while a guitar may not be as big of an investment as say your car or even your house (with some noteworthy exceptions), a couple wrong moves and you will be in for some costly repairs.

And it transcends just setting up your guitar. There may be needs that you have such as replacing pick ups or making adjustments to your Floyd Rose tremolo system and we have people onboard Dancing Dragon Music who will not only make those adjustments for you, but do so in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Walmart-ization of the music industry has had some advantages, but largely, the communities suffer when the big box stores take over.  As a small business ourselves, we at Dancing Dragon Music have compiled a list of advantages to shopping locally.  Here goes:

1.  Quick to Respond.  Small music stores are quick to respond to new gear availability primarily because manufacturers don't have to ship in bulk to us.  Let's say you have your eye on one of the new Blackstar guitar amp heads and no one has it in stock.  We can order it quickly and get you playing in no time - we have no desire to order 15 units, then wait for approval from "corporate" to place the order.

2.  Neighbors Helping Neighbors.  When you shop locally, the money you spend stays local.  We are not part of a chain where the bottom line is all we see and we have no "corporate masters" to whom we must answer.  When you make your purchases at Dancing Dragon Music, the money all stays here in the community.

Support Music, A Great Resource

We all appreciate music - virtually every aspect of music. From making music to listening to music to studying music...it's in our blood, and for most of us, it started at a very young age for most of us. We at Dancing Dragon Music have always encouraged and supported youth music advocacy programs, and we want to share one with you right now.

Support Music, brought to us by the National Association of Music Merchants.

On their website, http://www.nammfoundation.org/support-music, there exists a plethora of resources for you to enjoy, ranging from documents to help you make your case for why we need music programs in our local schools to "action alerts" - the latest news and information to help in your advocacy efforts. They also have a rating system where you get to rate your elementary, middle and high schools.

On the website, you can download brochures to share with local leaders and brush up on your arguments when dealing with your legislators to encourage them to keep music programs alive.

It's more than just having a local music store to support with Dancing Dragon Music; we are advocates and help you in your advocacy for music.
