From the Ibanez website (here):

Ibanez's premiere acoustic, the Artwood, is now dressed finer than fine for 2011. Grover® Tuners, bone nut and saddle, along with a more traditional neck shape is stopping guitar shop denizens in their tracks.

Wondering how the different Artwood body shapes relate to performance and playing style?

Martin Announces New Release

If you've been to our store, you know we carry only some of the best acoustic guitars...and Martin is one of the brands.  From the Martin Guitar website:

MARTIN GUITAR INTRODUCES ORCHESTRA MODEL JOHN RENBOURN CUSTOM ARTIST EDITION

Nazareth, PA - C.F. Martin & Co. (www.martinguitar.com) is proud to announce the introduction of the new OMM John Renbourn Custom Artist Edition guitar. The guitar celebrates the long career of the fingerstyle guitar legend.

For more than 40 years, Renbourn has remained a prominent fingerstyle guitarist, as a member of Pentangle in the late-1960s and early-1970s, as a solo artist in the 1970s and 1980s, and most recently as a collaborator with various artists. The Renbourn Artist Edition is inspired by Renbourn's preference for orchestra model guitars and the original orchestra model guitar made by C.F. Martin & Co. in 1929.

The new instrument features a classic Martin Orchestra Model design made of solid premium tonewoods. The top is made of Italian alpine spruce, rare Madagascar rosewood on the back and sides, with a neck carved from genuine mahogany. An ebony headplate features a detailed unicorn inlay in abalone pearl, gold and white mother of pearl and Micarta, while the ebony fingerboard features a unique mother of pearl pentangle (five-pointed star) design.

The model is finished with a polished gloss lacquer finish with aging toner on the top to enhance its vintage style and is protected in a Geib-style hardshell case. Each of the limited edition custom guitars bears an interior label personally signed by John Renbourn and is numbered in sequence. Additionally, each guitar is equipped with Martin SP Lifespan phosphor bronze strings.

The guitar will be one of several new models featured at 2011 Summer NAMM in Nashville from July 21-23 (BOOTH # 1200). For a list of authorized C. F. Martin & Co. dealers accepting orders for the OMM John Renbourn Custom Artist Edition, visit www.martinguitar.com.

Now, A Blog

The music scene in Oklahoma has been changing, adapting and growing over the years.  When we first opened our store, we were pleasantly surprised with the response, and we're still humbled by the support.  The scene in Oklahoma is pulsating, hungry, desirous of more than what has been provided thus far.

Enter:  Dancing Dragon Music.

Our goal with this blog is to create a place where you and your friends can come to find out about gear, about lessons and about which locale is the hot spot for your weekend (or weekday) dive into the Oklahoma music scene.  We'll have product reviews, band reviews, venue reviews and most importantly, we'll be able to interact and learn more about each other and what you want from the Oklahoma music scene.

Dancing Dragon Music is a different kind of music store.  Sure, we have top notch gear and feature the best equipment on the market, but we do so without the "big box" mark-ups.  We're locally owned and operated...our kids go to school with your kids, we eat at the same sandwich shops, we enjoy the same highlights of our great city.  We are a part of the community in ways, others just can't be because they have to answer to "corporate."  We offer lessons at affordable prices and are embarking on some very interesting projects in the future to help our next generation of musicians carry on our traditions of musical excellence.

Our store is easy to find - we're at 4220 North May Avenue, right next to O'Reilly's.  Everyone says they have friendly staff, so we won't insult your intelligence...suffice it to say that our staff comes from a diverse musical background and regardless of what your needs are for gear - drums, guitars, bass guitars, P.A systems, straps, mics...we can take care of you.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Dancing Dragon Music.  Stop by and see us.
